NEET Exam Controversy: Supreme Court to deny cancelled result, parents and students protesting

NEET Exam Latest News: The uproar over the NEET UG exam is not subsiding. Students and their parents are continuously protesting in different cities of the country demanding that the exam be conducted again.

Some parents even went to the Supreme Court demanding cancellation of this year’s NEET exam and re-conducting it, but the Supreme Court has refused to cancel the exam. However, the Supreme Court has sought an answer from the National Testing Agency (NTA) for negligence in this matter. Now the next hearing will be on July 8. Let us understand the whole matter in detail.

What did the Supreme Court say?

While hearing this petition, the Supreme Court has said that it cannot stop the result and order to re-conduct the exam. After this it has become clear that the counseling will continue. When the petitioner said during the hearing that NTA has been negligent in the entire examination. Transparency was not taken care of in this, the Supreme Court has sought a reply from NTA on this issue. The next hearing will be on July 8. Till then the admission process will continue.

Students are worried about this

Now the question in the minds of students and parents is that if counseling is done and admission is also done after that and then the Supreme Court orders to conduct the exam again, then what will happen to those who have cleared it now. The central government has also put forth its side in this whole matter. The government says that the officials are continuously discussing this. We will soon do justice in this matter.

NTA is not responding

On the other hand, NTA, the organization conducting NEET exam, has maintained silence in this entire matter. When the ABP News team reached the NTA office, a person came to meet the parents but did not reveal his name and position. On being asked questions repeatedly, he ran away from there.

What is the whole controversy

NEET exam was held on 5 May 2024. Students alleged that the paper was leaked before the exam, but NTA did not take any action. There was also a delay in distributing the paper at many centers during the exam. Students also created a ruckus over this and there was a delay in giving them the paper. Compensatory marks were promised for this. The results came on 4 June. Giving grace marks affected the results, so now there is a demand to conduct the paper again.
